The Perfection 2450 offers exceptional quality for the professional and enthusiast, with outstanding resolution and a photo adapter as standard for high resolution transparency scanning. Coupled with the high resolution are both IEEE1394 (Firewire) and USB 2.0 interfaces for connectivity to modern PCs and Macs - a first for consumer scanners.

Featuring a 2400dpi alternate MatrixCCDTM with EPSON Micro Step drive for a sub scanning resolution of 4800dpi, the Perfection 2450 Photo series can capture maximum image detail. The internal and external 48 bit colour depth enables the capture of a staggering 281 trillion colours and 16,384 shades of grey ensuring even the most subtle colour changes will be recognised.

The comprehensive software bundle included with the Perfection 2450 Photo offers the versatility of enhancing and manipulating images with Adobe PhotoShop Elements, high level OCR editing with Textbridge Pro, and ease of use with the EPSON Smart Panel - enabling the QuickStart button to be customised to user requirements including the new 'Scan to Web' feature.

The Perfection 2450 Photo uses the very latest On-Chip Microlens Technology. The microlens gathers light volume at the centre of the photo diode which results in greater light volume and therefore better image quality. The Perfection 2450 Photo is therefore capable of producing a better quality output than can be achieved by other 2400dpi competitors.

The Perfection 2450 Photo meets a variety of requirements. Its high speed is ideal for general image and document scanning whilst its built-in 4 x 9 transparency unit can be used for scanning negatives and transparencies and is ideal for amateur and professional photographers alike.
